Rancidity Test for oil/ Ghee sample .

Method.

|| 5ml oil/ ghee sample in cylinder 

 || Add 5ml conc HCl and shake it well 

 || Then add 5ml phloroglucinol solution 

Results.

If cylinder bottom colourless results its mean rancidity nil

If cylinder bottom colour attain e.g light pink or other its mean rancidity present.
